What is Heightle Game?
Heightle is a daily browser-based estimation puzzle that challenges your spatial awareness and proportional thinking. While standard trivia asks for exact historical dates or spelling, Heightle asks an intuitive question: How many soda cans tall is a camel? How many iPhones tall is Shaquille O'Neal?
Each day brings one standardized everyday object as the reference Stacking Unit (such as an apple, golf ball, tennis ball, or coffee mug). Players must work through five rounds of increasing scale, culminating in a world-famous architectural wonder.
How to play Heightle
-
Inspect today's Stacking Unit
Look at the designated unit at the top of the board. Take note of its true dimensions in centimeters (e.g., standard soda can = 12.2 cm, iPhone 16 = 14.76 cm).
-
Visualize the target object
Each round presents a new target object, creature, or landmark. Think about how high you or other familiar objects stand in relation to it.
-
Enter your stacked estimate
Type your estimate directly into the number input, or use the
+1,+10stepper buttons to dial in your stack. -
Reveal and compare
Hit Stack & Guess to trigger the side-by-side comparison reveal. Watch how your guess stacks up against the true measurement datum line.
-
Conquer the Boss Round
Round 5 is the ultimate test of scale—a massive landmark worth 200 points. Scale up your thinking into hundreds or thousands of units!
How Heightle scoring works
Heightle uses a proportional percentage error formula: |Guess - Actual| / Actual. This ensures that guessing within 10 cans on an elephant is judged with the same mathematical fairness as guessing within 100 cans on the Eiffel Tower.
A perfect round scores 600 points (4 × 100 + 1 × 200). Achieve 550+ to earn the prestigious Master Architect 📐 badge!
A worked estimation example
Imagine today's unit is a standard soda can (12.2 cm) and the target object is an adult male giraffe (520 cm tall).
- Mental math: Ten soda cans stacked together reach 122 cm (~1.22 m).
- Scaling up: Four stacks of ten cans equal 40 cans = 488 cm.
- Targeting: Adding three more cans (36.6 cm) reaches approximately 524 cm.
- The true answer: 520 cm / 12.2 cm = 42.6 soda cans.
- If you guessed 44, your error is only 3.2%, securing a 🎯 Bullseye (100 pts)!
Heightle Game FAQ
- What is Heightle Game?
- Heightle is a daily visual and spatial estimation puzzle. Every day at midnight UTC, a standard everyday item is chosen as the Stacking Unit (such as a 12.2 cm soda can or a 14.76 cm iPhone). Players must estimate how many of that unit stacked end-to-end match the height of five different target objects, concluding with a giant landmark Boss round.
- How is Heightle scored?
- Scoring is based on relative percentage error. Guessing within 5% of the true height awards a Bullseye 🎯 (100 points, or 200 points on the Boss round). Within 15% awards 80% points, within 30% awards 60%, and within 50% awards 30%. The maximum possible score across all 5 rounds is 600 points.
- What is the Boss Round (Round 5)?
- Round 5 is the Boss Round featuring world-famous landmarks or megastructures, such as the Eiffel Tower, the Great Pyramid of Giza, or the Saturn V rocket. Because of the enormous scale difference, the Boss round is worth double points (up to 200 points).
- Where do the real height measurements come from?
- All heights are verified against official manufacturer specifications, international standards (such as ITF for tennis balls and NBA for basketballs), museum records (like the Field Museum for T-Rex Sue), and national landmark registries (such as the US National Park Service).
- Can I play more than once a day?
- Yes! Unlimited Practice mode allows you to play endless randomly generated rounds with varying units and objects. Practice rounds do not alter your daily competition streak.
- When does the daily Heightle puzzle refresh?
- The daily puzzle refreshes globally at 00:00 UTC every day. Everyone around the world plays the exact same unit and set of 5 objects.
